We’ve seen a lot of cheap Sony Vaio P clones over the last 18 months or so. But one thing most have in common is that they tend to only be available in Asia. You know, unless someone goes through the trouble of shipping them internationally — which is exactly what Shenit.com is doing with the “Pocket Sony Style L80 Mini Laptop.”

Like the Sony Vaio P, this little guy has a compact design thanks at least in part to the fact that there’s no touchpad below the keyboard. Instead there’s a pointing stick in the center of the keyboard which you can use to control the on-screen cursor.

But while the Sony Vaio P has an 8 inch, 1600 x 768 pixel display, the Sony Style L80 has a larger 8.9 inch screen. There’s no word on the resolution, but I’m guessing we’re looking at a 1024 x 600 pixel display.

The machine has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of memory, and 16GB of storage. The product page says there’s a hard drive, but that low 16GB number leads me to believe it’s actually a solid state disk. It’s also worth noting that the product page says the computer has an Intel 945GSE chipset, even though every other Intel Atom N450-based computer I’ve seen has the newer NM10 chipset.

If those errors haven’t scared you away, there’s one good reason to consider placing an order for this shady product: It’s a heck of a lot cheaper than a Sony Vaio P. Shenit is selling it for just $299. It’s even cheaper if you order in bulk. A real Sony Vaio P, on the other hand, will e you back around $900.

According to “China Quality Daily” reported on May 26, China Hewlett-Packard Co., submitted to the General Administration of Quality control, inspection report, said some of August 2007 to January 2008 when production HPPavilion, CompaqPresario, HPCampaq, HP Series laptop batteries, the number in China, involving about 15,000. It is understood that HP would extend 14 May 2009 announced the fourth installment of the list laptop battery recall, four brands of 31 types.

HP’s brand is featured prominently in the minds of consumers in China, which produce printers, digital images, software, computer all the time does not affect the working people, live and learn. 6 consecutive years, HP was selected “most respected companies,” has sold, it is the world’s largest manufacturer of laptops, but in 2008, people began to fall in love HP more “doors” – including the map ” door “” door-screen flash “,” cockroaches “relates the incident, including consumers begin to review HP.

HP to expand the scope of the battery recall having hit consumer psychology Bottom line: HP’s why time and again to extend the scope of the recall, HP batteries are not a problem, there are others as Hewlett-Packard is the problem?

HP issue recalls upgrade Lead

In fact, such a reminder, not the first time HP has been performed. April 20, 2006, HP said that, as required by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced some series, the reminder of Hewlett-Packard laptop battery and the initiative to implement a replacement program overall. HP and the battery manufacturer to confirm 1 January 2005 to January 10, 2005 assembly errors of the battery. Hewlett-Packard that these deficiencies constitute a potential hazard to consumers. October 30, 2008, HP announced the HP laptop used for some of the approximately 74,000 to implement a battery recall and initiative global replacement program. May 14, 2009, HP announced the recall laptop battery fourth.

HP to expand the scope of the recall of battery, a user recent discussions. users of Hewlett-Packard by the composition of a group of QQ users must ask themselves if the battery model has been recalled in the recall list have been found “not in this column”, friends have said “very disappointed.” Meanwhile, some Internet users surveyed, HP notebook batteries recalled again and again to increase model, “is not the battery HP is the problem? Why not published before? Why is their battery does not recall list. ”

Recall of batteries overheating and other issues is the main cause of

HP recalls several issues relating to laptop batteries. HP has told the House of certain notebook computer may be of some batteries posed a security risk to potential customers, these batteries can overheat and pose fire and burn hazard to customers.

As we all know, laptops are based on materials of the lithium battery. And lithium are unstable, overheating, short life cycle of the physical, to improve stability of the battery, lithium battery materials, manufacturers will add other elements. In other words, the signs of small and thin, containing a variety of flammable substances in case of short circuit, overheating and other extraordinary circumstances, there is the possibility of fire.

In fact, several years ago, began the safety of exposure to lithium. Given that lithium is potentially dangerous, notebook makers should find ways to solve it. But the situation now is that people on the battery long-term sustainability have become more demanding, manufacturers continue to meet consumer demand, so that the performance of lithium battery manufacturers constantly challenge. When the speed of technological development can not keep up with demand, is often sacrificed the safety and quality of products. In addition, current safety standards for lithium batteries is also a bit confused, standardized manufacturing processes and safety standards will further improve product quality and reduce the incidence of risk, but to develop a uniform standard is not so easy. The blind pursuit of the current slim portable design and user comfort, while ignoring the problems of heat, also affect safety. Low if the security of the activity of the lithium-ion battery, the battery capacity will inevitably go down, which in itself is a contradiction.

Industry experts, to address the safety of batteries for laptops, from two aspects, one of the technical solution, relying on technology to solve the bottleneck limiting security. Secondly, thanks to the standard, through the development of standards, to some extent, to establish a business rule.

Introduction Standard Lithium imperative

Currently, lithium batteries have been used for appliances and other industries. It is widely used as lithium batteries, its production standards are very confusing. It is understood around the world, a standard lithium batteries laptop is in a confused state, national, industry has certain standards, but not the same thing. The safety of lithium batteries has become a major bottleneck in the industry where the design of the lithium-ion battery pack and the manufacturing process quality control system is the industry in a large number of incidents Security in the lithium-ion battery and finding a consensus.

China Security standards for lithium-ion batteries that the lack of overall planning, first between the national and industry level, and lack of coordination between the various industry standards, there trans-standard objects, repeated on the other hand there is no uniform standard guidelines, both a simple safety standards, but also including electrical properties, environmental performance and safety requirements for all general standards such as the nature of standards. products of the Li-ion battery as a household word, not only the unity of its safety standards, the need for adequate protection of consumer interests, but also reduce business costs, the standard requirements industry.

A great “Tweener”!
The HP Pavilion dm3 1130us (AMD CPU & ATI GPU model) is a good compromise between the portability of a netbook and the functionality of a full sized laptop. Technically in the “Ultra-portable/Thin & Light” category, I would say it is a netbook on steroids. I was looking for a portable computing solution but didn’t want a small keyboard or a hard-to-read/small screen. It had to have a small form factor, yet have a more powerful processor and graphics than traditional netbooks. I use it mainly for office work, web surfing, video streaming, music listening and light gaming.

Most of the specs are readily available on Amazon, but you can get a more in-depth overview by going to HP’s site and looking up the dm3z line in their Ultra-Portable category. The 1130 is essentially a later production run of the 1030, which is still available on Amazon as of this writing.

Back to what I was looking for;
Basically, I wanted a MacBook but only had about five hundred bucks to spend. I’m a Mac user normally but could not see paying so much for a laptop. I searched high & low and weighed several other options. In this laptop segment and at this price point, it is all about compromise and what you want as an end user. In this end, the 1130us was the best fit for me. I was able to find it on sale for under five hundred on the OfficeMax site and then found a dollar rebate. I used that saving to buy a , and so far that is working perfectly too. I was a little leery about getting an HP since they don’t have the best reliability reputation, but I would expect more problem reports from a company that sells so many computers. My mother-in-law has a 3 year old Pavilion that still runs like new.

What I like about it:

1. It’s fast, faster than I expected. Initial set-up was a snap. The 1.6GHz AMD Athon Neo X2 dual-core processor and ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200 graphics see to that. Perhaps not the best combo for intense Photoshop sessions or cutting edge 3D gaming, but I have several apps and browser windows open at once with no system slowdowns. Online video from various sources streams just fine and I’ve played a number of games (including Star Wars Battlefront) with no issues. The AMD cpu and ATI gpu combo uses more wattage than the Intel option, but I think you would sacrifice computing power for battery life if you went the Pentium or Core Duo route.

1b. 7200 RPM 320GB Hard Drive. Did I say it was fast? And spacious.

2. The screen. It is glossy, but not as bad as some and it is nice and bright. 13.3″ w/ a 1366×768 widescreen resolution means things are a bit smaller than on a standard desktop monitor, but everything is nice and crisp and the colors are good. It seems much bigger. HD content looks great on it and the viewing angle isn’t bad. I had a stuck pixel, but it went away. The lid opens about 135 degrees back so you can easily work with it on your lap. It has a nice firm hinge so there are no worries of it falling one way or the other.

3. Wi-Fi draft N. I’ve only had fast and excellent connectivity so far. Having bluetooth is nice too, but I’ve yet to use it.

4. Windows 7, not a cobbled Started Edition. Coming from OSX, I have to say I’m growing more and more impressed with the latest Windows OS. It seems to have more intricacies than with OSX, but I’m getting used to it and have to say the user interface is top notch. Before this, I’ve used XP and am so glad that Microsoft has finally refined their product. Connect a device for the first time and either the drivers are already there or they download automatically. Nice. Lots of eye candy too.

5. Touch pad. Some reviewers pan it, but I find it works well for me after a slight learning curve. Sure, it is the only fingerprint magnet on an otherwise lovely case, but I like the feel of the shiny chrome finish and find the multi-finger gestures useful. The “mouse-buttons” could be a little easier to depress, but that is a small quibble, just tap the pad. It is also very customizable to your specific needs. The 1030us touch pad had some wake-from-sleep issues, but that was fixed in the latest BIOS. I also use a but have no problems adjusting to the touch pad if I leave mouse at the office.

6. 4 USB, 5-in1 card reader, 1 VGA, and 1 HDMI port. Connectivity ahoy!

7. Full sized keyboard. It took a little adjustment, but I like the quiet, island style keys. When in the proper position, I can type just as fast as with my desktop’s keyboard. I measured it, and it is slightly LARGER than my G5’s primary keyboard area!

8. The case. This is one sturdy feeling case with little or no flex that I can detect. You can hold it by a corner without fear. I love that it isn’t a finger print magnet like so many others out there. The brushed aluminum finish is very attractive and gives it a high-end appearance.

9. It came with 4GB DDR2 ram, expandable to 8GB. With the 64bit OS, I could do this, but see no need to at the present time.

10. Cool. Even after all day use the air blowing out of the rear side exhaust vent is only slightly warm. The front wrist rests can get a little warm, but never uncomfortable (at least to me).

11. Quiet. If a completely silent room you can hear the faint breath of the fan, but otherwise it and the spinning hard drive are unnoticeable.

12. Well packaged. There are no disks included, but the manual and documentation are pretty clear.

13. Price. Find this on sale and you’ve got yourself one heck of a deal!

What’s not so great about it:

1. It is about 13″ wide and weights about nearly 5 pounds with the battery inserted. For me that’s no big deal but if you plan to lug your laptop around a lot, you may want to look at something smaller and lighter. It is only one inch thick so it slides easily into most bags.

2. Speakers. You know going in that they won’t be that great, but I still couldn’t help being a little disappointed. However, I tweaked the sound settings and get decent output now, though not very loud. It does the job though. Use earphones. I connected it to my speakers with a subwoofer and Pandora radio sounds terrific!

3. Battery life. I get about 4 hours of constant general use life out of it. Another reviewer stated he was able to play the entire Fellowship of the Ring movie before it went into hibernation, but I have not tested that. The good news is that 4 hours is still decent, and the power cord isn’t too cumbersome. If you need an all-day, cord-free laptop/netbook, look elsewhere.

4. Some bloatware. Being new to Windows I researched what to do when you first get a computer. One of the most common recommendations is to remove the manufacturer installed software. I got rid of the MS Office trial and Norton. I’ll still playing around with the suite of HP software. I may keep some, but will probably ditch a good bit of it. However, some users may like the included software. Even with it, the 1130us is a speedy customer.

5. No optical drive, but I knew that and won’t need one every day. The Samsung will also be useful for my other computers.

6. No OS restore disk. I know, there is no optical drive and there is a recovery partition, but it still would have been nice.

7. Possible fit and finish issues. I just noticed a very slight gap along the top right front edge where the wrist wrest meets the side paneling. Pressing down on it does reveal a little flex. Not enough to return it, but it is worth keeping an eye on and could be cause for concern. It is too early to tell. (see my product photos)

I have not used the Quickweb feature, but Windows 7 boots up (after some re-configuration) in less than a minute so I’m not sure I’d need it. I’ve also not yet used the HDMI out port or webcam. I plan to test both soon and have heard that the webcam is good in low light. I’ve only been using the 1130us for a little over a week so I can’t speak to its long-term reliability, but so far so good. I’ll post an update if I have anything new to add.

So, is the dm3 1130us the right model for you? If you are not a 3D gamer and want a nice looking, sturdy, portable laptop without most of the limitations of a netbook, then the answer could be “yes”. Of course, technology is changing rapidly and in a few months the next latest and greatest will be out. But if you need something now, and want a lot of oomph at a great value, then the dm3 1130us could be your best bet. It exceeds my expectations at a price point other laptops couldn’t match, so that is why I’m giving it 5 (4 1/2 actually) stars.

Way more pluses than minuses in this little machine
I got the DM3-1130 (the AMD processor) in early February, after an extensive search to replace my HP Pavilion dv5000. I had considered ASUS and Macbooks, in particular, as I wanted something in the 13-inch range, lightweight and with a good track record.

This model has more memory than the slightly more expensive ASUS model of this size, and Macbooks, while perennially getting great reviews, cost hundreds more. I use this for personal use and for some business use (Internet, writing, some photo editing), so a Macbook wasn’t worth it. Sorry, Justin Long.

After my brief time with my new HP, here are the pros and cons, for anyone considering it:

Pros:
1) It truly is a lightweight, portable model
2) The style is hard to beat, if you like the metal look
3) The keyboard style is different than what I’m used to, but I’ve found the chiclet style very use to type with
4) HP Quickweb is a useful, practical feature to get you on the Internet/listening to music or looking at photos without accessing Windows 7
5) Windows 7 itself rivals Apple’s platform in the litany of user-friendly features and style. I was very impressed.
6) The battery life is about what was advertised- probably in the 4 hour range, if you’re using wireless and looking at photos, etc. People who are only getting two hours probably are watching a movie and/or didn’t let the battery fully drain the first time before they charged it.
7) The four USB ports, the SD slot and the exhaust fan on the side are all nice features.
I haven’t had any problems with the mousepad- people who have commented negatively on it, I would guess, want the world’s perfect mousepad. It’s functional. And sure, it gets fingerprints on it, but that’s because you use your fingers to use it. What do you expect? And are you trying to impress people with your fingerprint-less mousepad?
9) I was installing multiple programs and browsing the Internet all at once and experienced no interruptions or slow down. At least in that test, the RAM and processor are keeping up. I went with the AMD instead of Intel partly for cost (much cheaper), but also because I was told by some computer experts AMD might work a little faster. No regrets yet.

Cons:
1) The left palm area gets hotter than you’d like.
2) I had a problem after registering/setting up my laptop. After installing a few programs I needed to restart. When I got to the log-on screen and entered the password I had selected during startup when I created an account, Windows kept telling me I was incorrect, although I was sure (and the password hint verified) that I was right. HP tech service said that sometimes happens when an administrator password is selected during start-up, and had me restore my system. It worked (I just didn’t enter a password during setting up screen), although I had to reinstall stuff I had already installed before, as you’d expect. Lost some time, but not a huge deal. You’d think it could have been avoided with a simple “Set up a user password later”, as I’m sure I’m not the only person that’s happened to. That’s more of Windows’ fault than HP’s. At the least, HP tech service was helpful.
3) No optical drive, which you need to make a recovery disk at some point. I’ll have to borrow one. Since most software is downloaded these days, I won’t otherwise need it. It’s something you have to give up if you want an ultraportable model, in most cases.
4) HP offers a $50 rebate for this model, but it’s not valid if you buy it off of Amazon. I knew that ahead of time- still went with Amazon because it was cheaper than factory direct, but that’s a bummer.

Great, great computer!
No more MacBook Pro envy for me!!!I love computers and have owned many laptops over the years, everything from Mac PowerBooks to Dell Mini’s. I thought for a long time about buying a new MacBook Pro. I loved the size (13 inch model)and the brushed silver look and many of the apps. What I DID not like was the price and the fact that I could not use Office OneNote(as a teacher and a mother, this is one app I truly cannot live without!!) on the Mac without having to purchase Windows 7 and Parallels. Did some playing around in computer stores with both the Mac and other computers and fell upon this HP dm3. Loved it from the first touch. It is solidly built, beautiful to look at, light-weight, and perhaps most important to me, FAST!! I do not play computer games but do a lot of web surfing, watch streaming video, and use lots of photo and movie apps. This little guy is just as fast as my big and much more expensive desktop replacement, and simply blows my Dell Mini right out of the water. Not even in the same league!

If I could give this more stars, I would…this is a fast, sleek 13-inch (just the right size) computer that is every bit as pretty as the MacBook Pro. I am not a big fan of touchpads; I always use a mouse. That being said, I actually love this one!

I would be remiss not to mention that the service at Amazon is absolutely second-to-none. I had originally ordered an Asus 13 inch but changed my mind after reading some comments about the wireless abilities (plus, it kind of freaked me out buying someting that I had never actually touched.)Having played with this one at the store was really the deal-maker for me. They have the finest customer service on this planet, and I would never buy my computers from anywhere else. Also worth mentioning…bought the SquareTrade 3-year warranty that includes spills, etc. I had an old MacBook(6 years old)that I had a SquareTrade warranty on. It died one day, I mailed it in, and had my complete purchase price in my bank account within a week. Very much worth the money! P.S. This is the only review I have ever written although I have been a loyal Amazon fan for years. Guess that shows how much I really do love this machine!!

Product is contained in a standard brown box worked perfectly right out of the box. The only small problem that the product is intended to replace short-term (in my opinion), but if you have a single plug-in charge and let go of this person would be a great product and spare parts in the long term! For those of you who are hard chargers that can not be the ideal product for you, but the low price compensates for that! Some 4.5 to 5.0 stars in my book.

I have taken some Pictures in the last weeks – please tell me what they tell you:

Orange as any orange on a tree by neloqua

Fotos entwickeln

It's one of the greatest tools available to photographers, it's easy to use, and yet it's among the least known and used abilities of a camera today. Pro photographers have used it for decades, but the amateur can use these same techniques without paying the professional price. It's called depth of field, and it's accessed through the use of the aperture.

The aperture, simply put, is the hole that light comes through in your camera. Light passes through the front of the lens, through a series of glass pieces, through a hole at the back of the lens, and into the camera. The aperture is the hole in the back of the lens, and you get to control this vital part of the camera, if you decide to want to bump up your pictures. You can place the camera on auto, and the camera will adjust its aperture, shutter and more to the situation it sees. By placing the camera in more manual modes, you take on powerful and personal control, and YOU get to decide what you want to create with your photographs.

An important factor here is lighting. Any photography relies heavily on the lighting that you are using, whether it be from the natural, ambient light around you, or artificial light, like a strobe or other flash unit. Especially while using natural light, it will be important to use a tripod to keep the camera steady while shooting. If you are shooting on a cloudy day, without much light, then the camera must compensate for less light by having a longer shutter speed, which it will do automatically in the mode I'll be explaining in a moment. A longer shutter speed means the camera won't be able to have a clearly focused picture without the use of the tripod.

Depth of field simply means the area of focus, or the area in the picture that is in focus might be a more accurate term. Photography is a two dimensional medium, having height and width, but it lacks depth, the third dimension. Your photography can create the illusion of that depth through a few easy camera settings. You may be asking yourself, why would I want to create the illusion of depth, and what is it good for? Part of the reason is to create a sense of emphasis. When you take a picture of a large area, with trees, birds, squirrels, people, rocks, etc, what is the thing or object that you are zeroing in on? Is there anything that you really want to emphasize to your viewer? If so, it's probably getting lost in the crowd of other things on the scene. The squirrels are so small you can barely see them, the people are walking their dogs, and the trees are swaying in the breeze. But what if you wanted to focus on the viewer on the flowers in the garden? When you create emphasis on an object, it strengthens your photo, and actually guides the eye of the viewer to that object. You could take pictures to create a story about that, as you can read in my article about photo stories. When you get in to take close-ups of the flowers is where the possibilities of great photography begin.

Emphasize the garden by focusing in on one or two flowers at a time. Grab a tripod, get down to eye level with them, and then get ready. Place your camera in a mode that allows you to change your aperture; the mode is usually called “A”, or “AV” on some models. Film cameras can allow these changes too, on SLR models. They require you to simply change the f-stop manually on the aperture ring. On your digital camera, use your selector buttons to change your aperture. You'll see on your digital camera, most likely, a letter f, with the number on the readout on either the monitor, or the info panel on the top of the camera, or perhaps both areas. The f means f-stop, which is the name commonly used to describe the number of the aperture setting. The best way to emphasize a flower is to have only that flower in focus, and to have the rest out of focus. Change your aperture to a really low number, such as 2.8, 4, or 5.6. When the lens is at a low number like this, the lens hole is wide open, but it is creating a small area or depth of field; basically an inch or two will be in focus. Focus your camera, and shoot. Now, look at the camera, and look at your pictures. The one or two flowers should be in focus, but do you see how the background is fuzzy and out of focus? This is what is called a “shallow depth of field”, and that comes from using a small number f-stop. That's because you've taken control of your camera, and changed the outcome! Because only the flower is in focus, and the rest is blurred out, you have guided your viewer to what YOU want to emphasize! You have used one of the most powerful tools available for a photographer to bring a new focus to your pictures. Try this with a lot of different scenes; look how the item is forced to really stand out for you because it's the only thing in focus.

Now, on the opposite end of the spectrum are the pictures that have the entire photograph in focus; such as a lighthouse standing out from the beach, with horseshoe crab shells in the immediate foreground. This is also done by changing the depth of field of your camera. Here, you again change your aperture, but this time place it on a high number like 16, 22, 28, etc. This is to create a large depth of field by using a small hole in the back of the lens. Again, you must use a tripod to keep the camera steady. Take a picture with something in the near foreground, such as a rock or the crab shells, and then compose your picture with a mountain or some other object some distance away, focus, and shoot. Remember to use the rule of thirds here for additional emphasis. As you'll see, both areas should be in focus, again showing the third dimension and creating the illusion of depth. This is a large depth of field.

It's a little known tool in the photographer's toolbox, but almost any camera made in the past four years will have some sort of ability to work with depth of field, whether they have a point and shoot or DSLR. Every photographer, of every level, has the ability, through practice, to create beautiful photographs that can rival those of the pros, by using the tools available with every camera. Use the strength of depth of field when you create the third dimension in your photographs, and add a new and incredibly
powerful personal dimension to your photography.

I like to imagine different scenarios of what might have caused this phrase to be painted on the trailer – perhaps the workers suffer from short-term memory loss and have to have a constant reminder not to start hacking apart the trailer?  Or they start toward the trees, think “Nah, the tree could fall and crush my leg” and en masse rush the trailer and start cutting it up since it’s much easier and the planks just drop a few inches to the ground.  I just know it’s because management’s avariciousness has forced the workers to remind them, “You got the trees – don’t get greedy and cut up the trailer too.”  I wish someone would go paint over “trailer” and replace it with “forest.”

This afternoon on the way home from work, we decided to detour through Shiloh.  An afternoon rain shower had just ceased, and these deer had come out into the field to eat the rain soaked grass.

Nothing like a detour on the way home – backroads with confusing forks, hidden potholes, and now the weekend – here’s to a good one!

I’ve often had bad things to say about Samsung televisions, with their strange controls and bizarre design, but these characteristics have worked in Samsung’s favor more than once, as is evidenced by the Samsung SMX-F43BN/XAA.

The Samsung SMX-F43BN/XAA camcorder boasts a 52x optical zoom with a whopping 2200x digital zoom to back it up, a 2.7 inch LCD monitor, digital image stabilization, face detection technology, night recording capability, a time lapse recording feature, two megapixel still camera mode, eight gigs of onboard memory with compatibility with Secure Digital memory cards, a USB port, and editing software.

It’s a pretty solid camcorder, right?  The range on the zoom is pretty nice, measuring in at a little better than a hundred feet by my admittedly loose estimate standards, and the controls are solid and easy to use besides.  And the price is, frankly, a little extra inducement to pick this one up.  It’s two hundred twenty bucks out at Best Buy, which is a pretty nice price no matter how you look at it.

The Samsung SMX-F43BN/XAA is a really nice overall camcorder that brings plenty of features in a compact and easy to use package.  If you’re in the market for a new one, this is definitely a good one to check out.

Samsung introduced three new Q Series notebook, Q530, Q430 and Q330 which is claimed offer mobility, style and strength.

The most superior product in this Q Series is Samsung Q530 which is designed to meet the needs of highly mobile users, especially business travelers and consumers who need higher PC specifications when traveling.

Samsung Q53 offers 15.6-inch HD LED screen, which would produce sharp and clear images color. LED technology is also called more efficient in terms of battery. For business graphics, Q530 also equipped with Nvidia GeForce GT 330M 1GB which promises excellent graphics quality. 4 GB RAM and up to 500 GB of storage is also embedded in this notebook weighing 2.4 kg.

While Samsung Q430 is smaller than Samsung Q530, with 14-inch HD LED screen and weighs 2.09 kg. Other specifications are 310M GeForce graphics card 512 MB, 4GB RAM and 320 GB of storage. Samsung Q430 is a stylish notebook that offers mobile experience for users.

Final product is Samsung Q330 which is designed for users who want mobility and strength. Weighing 1.97 kg and 13.3-inch HD LED screen, Samsung Q330 is a tiny notebook in Q-series, but still packed with impressive features. 3 GB of RAM is also immersed in this series.

Samsung Q330 equipped with a hybrid graphics feature that allows users to choose the default graphics card Intel or Nvidia GeForce 310M which can replaceable as needed. With five cell battery 5900 mAh, Q330 claimed to have up to seven hours of endurance.

All models in this Q-series are providing choice to consumers to choose the processor that will be used, Intel Core I3 or Intel Core i5. All series are also equipped with Wi-Fi Wireless-N and Bluetooth 3.0.

Samsung is also adding their 3 Q series notebook with USB Sleep and Charge feature, which allow user charging their phone or MP3 player, even when the notebook is in sleep mode conditions.

Samsung Q530, Q430 and Q330 reportedly will be available soon in the global market this month. But Samsung has not announced the details price.

Samsung SMX-F40 is greatly equipped with 65x intelli-Zoom (52x Optical Zoom). With this zoom power, user of Samsung SMX-F40 can bring distant images into forefront focus and zoom action further away closer. In addition, this model is enery saver. It gives you up to 4 hours and 20 mins to insure that you can shoot as long as you need. When I was in high school I found my moms old Nikon camera. I always wanted to get into photography but didn't know anything about it. So I got a job at a photo lab and took that camera with me everywhere. I'd bring the film into work the next day to see what I had learned and how the photos turned out. When prom time came around a bunch of my friends wanted me to do their prom pictures. So I borrowed a nicer camera from a friend and charged my friends to shoot their prom pictures. I made enough money to buy my first camera. After that it was a start of a dream

Since then I have done paintball photography for a world wide magazine, been a sports photographer, wedding photographer, school photographer, child photographer, and every kind of photographer in between. These are a list of sites I used when I first started out that I found to be invaluable.

www.photographytips.com

Great site that is some what member based. You can look around most of the site for free but if you want to access everything there is to see you can sign up online for only $5.00 a month. There are great articles on subjects from composition, to light, to how to use your flash. There are also some great galleries so that you can learn by example. Every page is filled with helpful information and numerous pictures that help explain the topic of the article.

www.photosecrets.com

This site may not be graphicly pleasing but it covers its bases. The tips are divided up into beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The beginner section covers topics like what kind of camera and film you should buy as well as how to take better pictures of people. he intermediate section talks about quipment, hot to tackle more complicated subjects, and travel photography. The advanced section is more about selling photos, more details about film, and the use of filters. The only thing I Don't like is there are no photos on any of the pages. I think a photography site should have pictures!

www.kodak.com

As one would expect this site covers everything that is photography. This site is easily to scroll through and has a wide variety of topics. Learn the best way to photograph your baby, take better vacation pictures, or photograph your pet. The site also covers topics like printing pictures, sharing pictures, and getting started in digital. The photographs on the site are great and offer some step by step examples of topics discussed in the articles. There are also interactive demos on different subjects that are worth checking out. You can even research information on

film and digital cameras.

www.photonhead.com

This site offers a great tool for the photographer who wants a better understanding of shutter speeds and f-stops. This is the hardest concept to grasp when starting out=t in photography. I know, Ive been there. No matter how many times its explained you just Don't quite get it. This site offers a tool where you can set shutter speeds ad and f-stops in any combination and see what the effect would be. You have a sample photo to your left and to your right you can see what it would look like with your f-stop and shutter speed combo. This is a great tool that helps you learn about f-stops, shutter speed, focal length, and depth of field.

www.betterphoto.com

This site offers online photography course for the photographer who wants to become a professional. The online classes are rated for skill level of the photographer. Classes usually include weekly assignments and have the course instructor personally look over your work. Course range from the business of photography to how to use photoshop and many other topics. Classes vary in price. A 8week class could be between $200-$400. If your aren't happy with your course by the third assignment there is a money back guarantee.

www.scphoto.com

This is one of the best sites I can recommend for young photographers who need direction. This site was created by a high school photography teacher. Its is a free lesson plan that offers homework for photographer. The best thing it offers is assignments on different areas of photography. There are assignments for learning magazine photography, lighting, concepts, and much much more. There are list of words and terminology you should new. Its basically a free high school photography class. I went through the whole lesson plan when I was teaching my self photography and highly recommend it.

How to Find Your Perfect Wedding Photographer

June 17th, 2010

Sure I'm a little biased, but I feel that your wedding photographer is one of the most important investments you can make for your wedding.

You've heard the age-old adage of how your flowers will die, your food will get eaten, your dress will get hung up in the wardrobe for decades, but your wedding photographs will live forever.
I'm not suggesting that without wedding photographs you'll have nothing to remember your day by but there is a lot of truth in that old saying, I'm sure you'll agree.

If your wedding photographs will live forever, how do you go about finding the perfect person to record your wedding day?

WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM A PHOTOGRAPHER?

As a couple you need to work together to decide what you both want from a photographer.

*              Come to an agreement on whether you want a lot of formal pictures of your family and friends, or if you would prefer a more candid approach.

*              Would you like lots of pictures of all the details that you lovingly arranged, or are pictures of Grandad laughing at the best mans speech more important to you?

All of those things are important, but you need to work out what is more important to you both.

As an engaged couple, the chances of you spending a large amount of money on glossy wedding magazines is pretty high. I just know!

*              Which wedding pictures caught your eye?

*              Natural or posed?

*              Did the posed ones look almost natural?

*              Have you been to a recent wedding where the photographer impressed you before you even saw the pictures?

Find out who these photographers are! The ones in magazines are there because they want you to hire them, they're looking for more work because they love what they do!

Most photographers have a blog, they're designed especially for you. Look for photographers in your rough area who have blogs and find a few that you admire.

Google this: “[your nearest city] wedding photography blog”

You'll most likely be inundated with a large amount of blogs, some better than others.
If you are looking for someone to cover your day in a photojournalistic way, look on the WPJA for example.

WHAT IS IT YOU LIKE ABOUT THEIR STYLE?

Out of the few photographers that really stand out to you, is there one that you can't keep away from?

*          Try to pinpoint the reasons why you keep on going back to see their pictures.

*          Look for originality and humour in their pictures as well use of initiative.

You don't need an understanding of cameras and lenses for these things!

Can you imagine yourself in their pictures?

If they have a blog, look through all their recent weddings and learn to understand their style.

What is their style of writing like?

You should be able to tell if they have a real passion for weddings!

BE SURE BEFORE YOU BOOK

Try to get to know them through their pictures and style before you even meet them.

*          Before you meet up, ask your photographer to bring a sample wedding album or two.

*          Do you like the album and the layout of the images?

*          Are there other options if it isn't to your taste?

When you meet up, you must both like your photographer as a person. Could you be friends with them? You don't have to become friends with them of course but you do need to be that comfortable with them.
They will be with you on the happiest and most important day of your lives sharing those special moments.
You wouldn't invite someone that you don't like to be a guest at your own wedding would you?

Your prospective photographer needs to be someone who is very interested in you. You'll know if they're being genuine.

Notice that none of the advice I've given is about megapixels and special effects in Photoshop.
If you like pictures with special effects applied, then there is nothing wrong with that. Photoshop doesn't make a bad picture good, in fact it often makes a good picture bad.
I would recommend though, looking for a photographer with images that look as though they will age well; Pictures that aren't faddy.

A few questions you should ask your photographer are:

1.       Will you be the only person shooting our wedding?

2.       Are your packages flexible?

3.       What type of insurance do you have?

4.       Do you have back-up equipment?

5.       What will you do if you are sick and cannot cover our wedding?

6.       How long will it take for us to see the pictures?

Choosing a photographer doesn't have to be hard.
You must simply love your photographers work and have total confidence in them.
If you follow this advice, I'm sure you'll find your perfect photographer that can record your day just as you remember it!

The Top Gadgets Announced at CES 2010

June 10, 2010

I Love my Wife's Acer by gareth1953

Technology always captivates consumers. Some of the best gadgets and technological advancements are introduced each year in the International CES in Vegas, really addressing new meaning in pioneer and intelligent devices.

The best gadgets announced at CES 2010, according to experts and consumer reviews, are the following:

a) Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid

Featuring fascinating notebooks with IdeaPad U1 Hybrid on the lead, Lenovo has really made a striking impression at this year's CES. Being the first PC in the industry that allows users to remove the screen and switch to a six-screen multitouch tablet that functions independently with its own processor and operating system, the IdeaPad U1 integrates Lenovo's Hybrid Switch technology allowing both PCs to function perfectly on the two processors effortlessly.

Featuring textured surface on the inside and a sleek, transparent dark red cover that cannot but capture the consumer's eye, the shiny round notebook comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon ARM processor in tablet mode, 11.6″ HD LED display, 4GB of memory RAM and 160GB storage capacity on the SSD running on Windows 7 Home Premium. When pulled out of its showcase, Lenovo switches to Skylight UI that functions as a detached tablet with an ARM processor running alongside Lenovo's customized Linux Skylight operating system.

The base, when detached, continues to work as its own Core 2 Duo SU41 opening up potential for the U1 to truly act as two devices in one. Both laptop and tablet modes support over 5 hours of 3G Web browsing and up to 60 hours of 3G standby. The tablet's edge-to-edge glass is comfortable and the chromed edges tempting, but some areas that need attention are the keyboard (too flat for Lenovo's standards), and perhaps ergonomics (notebook weight is 3.7 pounds, tablet weight is 1.6 pounds).

The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid is not expected to hit the market before June 1st, 2010, while its suggested retail price is $999.

b) Motorola Backflip smartphone

Scheduled for a global release at the Q1 2010, the Backflip comes with a 528-MHz Qualcomm MSM 7200A processor on Google Android 1.5 OS, 3.1″ touchscreen that natively supports 320 x 480 resolution, Wi-Fi, 3G and 5-megapixel camera. Besides, the device supports Moto Blur social-networking add-ons, Bluetooth and a 2GB memory card that can be expanded up to 32GB.

However, the best asset of the Backflip is its unique design. When it is closed, both the screen and the keyboard face out. The device can be flipped in a V-shape or totally flat to watch a movie or it can be used as a picture frame or alarm clock. When the device is open, it allows users to navigate on its touchscreen or use a trackball for navigation.

c) Sony HDR-XR550V camcorder

Featuring a 240GB HDD, 3.5″ LCD with 1920 x 1080 Full HD video recording, 12-megapixel still image capture with wide angle Sony G Lens with 10x optical zoom and Direct Copy feature, Sony HDR-XR550V camcorder is a unique camera that enable users to capture astonishingly smooth video from wide angle to full telephoto shooting.

Besides, the HDR-XR550V is a great device to experience low-light sensitivity with enhanced image clarity and considerably reduced grain due its revolutionary 'Exmor R' CMOS sensor. Designed exclusively for compact cameras and camcorders, the 'Exmor R' CMOS sensor is intended for shooting video in lower lighting conditions with superior results. Also, the Sony G Lens offers enhanced optical performance delivering bright, accurate color reproduction and sharp, astonishingly detailed images.

d) Panasonic VT25 Plasma HDTV

Panasonic announced the release of the new plasma VIERA VT25 Series that is expected to hit the market in the spring of 20102 and offers users the full HD 3D capability. The set will include one pair of 3D glasses for an unforgettable 3D experience and an active LC shutter system. What is even more impressive than offering the 3D glasses – at a time that no other manufacturer provides them – is that the left and the right lens of the glasses lightens and darkens successively and too quickly to be perceived, while the TV displays the corresponding left and right-eye-specific images at the same time. The result is Panasonic's 'Full HD 3D' content of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels for each eye.

Besides, the set features Skype video calling, Wi-Fi connection (optional), the option to add Pandora, Twitter, Netflix and Fox Sports to own content through VieraCast interactive suite and infinite Black Pro, among others.

The Dell XPS M1210 notebook computer PC is powered by current 1.66 GHz Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T2300 and it holds 2-MB L2 Cache, dell laptop Battery, 667 MHz FSB, Intel Alviso 915GM / ICH6-M Chipset, 512-MB DDR2-533 SDRAM (667 MHz), 60 GB SATA 5400 rpm hard drive and a regular 24X DVD/CD-RW Combo Optical Drive.

The Core Duo C.P.U. family has tried itself as a great performer in many past reviews on this web site, Dell Latitude d430 Battery and Dell is providing the higher end Core Duo central processing unit options in the M1210.  Core Solo is not even an option for the M1210 — it’s superior octane gas merely for this machine.  The hard drive offerings are impressive, with the option of a 100GB 7200RPM hard drive available — that’s right at the cutting edge of notebook hard drives on the market today.  If you’re a fan of lots of system RAM, the max RAM of 4.0GB should make you smile.  The system under review has 1.0GB of memory, which should be ample for most users, but if you consider you need more then there’s plenty of room to add it.

Battery

Instead of running battery benchmark tests I used a real world battery drain test.  At 100% charge I set the screen to half-brightness and pulled the plug on the XPS M1210.  I then performed different projects such as downloading and setting up Half Life 2 and playing it for a bit, surfboarding the web,Dell Studio Xps 1640 Battery downloading and installing 3DMark05, watching 10 minutes of a DVD, changed some photos for this review and also turned off wireless and just let the M1210 idle for some time.  In doing all of this the 9-cell battery ran down to 5% charge and Windows shut the notebook down at 2h 58 mins of usage.  Since the M1210 here is configured with a dedicated graphics card and faster central processor and I left wi-fi on, that time isn’t bad.  If you had embedded graphics, wi-fi off and set your screen smartness lower you could easily reach 4.5 hours.  My test was pretty abusive in terms of using demanding programs while on battery power.

Price and Availability

Our test unit, equipped with a 2-GHz Core 2 Duo T7200 C.P.U. and 1GB of DDR2-667 SDRAM, produced a WorldBench 5 score of 102, a Dell Latitude d500 Series Battery result that’s 5 percent better than the mark of 97 earned by the average XP Media Center Edition laptop computer with the same-speed equivalent of the previous generation Core Duo CPU. And our test machine’s solid battery life should leave you ample time to spend an afternoon telecommuting at the local chocolate shop or watching an in-flight DVD: The M1210 lasted 4 hours, 23 minutes on a nine-cell battery.

I get to play with a lot of notebook computer with the work I do, and believe it or not that can actually get tedious when you see one laptop after the other that’s just kind of the same.  The M1210 is various though, it’s a 12.1" laptop that’s designed to be important and fun.  You can game on it, comfortably watch and listen to movies on it, use it to record video,Dell Latitude d410 Battery be highly mobile and connected with the EVDO option and to top it all off the look is genuinely special.  I love the black lid and blue accent lights.  It’s certainly one of the thicker 12.1" notebooks out there, but the goal was not to be the thinnest and lightest in the category, but rather the most functional and well equipped.  I think Dell accomplished that, the XPS M1210 offers the most fun and most possibilities in a 12.1" screen form factor of any such notebook on the market.

The Slide Foto Album app for MySpace is a great way to display your photos. In this tutorial I will show you how to install Slide Foto Album, how to use it, and how to remove it. You can display all of your photos with this app. Go ahead and login to your account and we will get started.

After you log in, you should be on the account page. On the account page you will see the Apps box. Click the Get Apps link in that box. You will see a search box on the next page. The search box is at the top of the page on the right. Type Slide Foto Album in the search box. Then click the Search button.

When the results return, you will need to click the title of the app. Then you will be carried to the page where you will begin the installation. Click the Add This App button on that page. When you click that button, a box will pop up and ask that you click the Add button. Click the Add button to finish the installation.

After you install the app, it will be displayed on your profile. The app automatically sets everything up and pulls your photos from your albums to display on your profile. Go to your profile to view the new Slide Photo Album.

MySpace has done some updating, so if your photos are not showing up, you will need to change your settings. Follow these instructions if your photos are not showing up.

Go to your account page. Click the Manage Apps link in the apps box. You will then be carried to the apps page. On this page you will see the different apps that you have installed. Beside the Slide Foto Album you will see a Settings link. Click that link and a box will pop up. When the box pops up, you will need to tick the last two fields. These are the photos and videos fields. Then click the Update button. Now your photos should be showing.

Go to your profile page to see if the slide album is displaying your photos. If you have your photos set to where only you can see them, they will not show up on the slide album. You must set them to private or public for the album to be able to display them.

To remove the app from your profile, go to your profile page. On your profile page you will see the new module that was created for the Slide Foto Album. At the top of that module you will see an X. Click that X and click the Remove App button in the box that pops up. That will remove that app.

Traditional photographers create wedding images that are mostly posed and scripted and where the photographer takes posed pictures of the entire family and/or bridal party together. Usually, high level of the intrusion is involved. Sometimes there is a great amount of frustration is also involved because of the artificial posing. Wedding Photography generally means informal photojournalism and photographers usually aim for catching original moments through candid shots from a distance.

Digital Wedding Photography is a form of contemporary photography that uses digital technology to make images of subjects. Until the advent of such technology, photography used photographic film to create images which could be made visible by photographic processing. By contrast, digital photographs can be displayed, printed, stored, manipulated, transmitted, and archived using digital and computer techniques, without chemical processing. Digital photography is one of several forms of digital imaging. Digital images are also created by non-photographic equipment such as computer tomography scanners and radio telescopes. Digital images can also be made by scanning conventional photographic images. The advantages of digital wedding photography faster post-production, negatives can be obtained in the form of a DVD or CD which don’t erode over the years. Digital photographs can be more easily posted online or sent via an email. They can be posted on Facebook or Myspace in 2 minutes. Generally, more wedding photos can be taken on the day of the wedding because it doesn’t use expensive film. Artistic Wedding Photography generally involves more post production to edit the photos to achieve artistic angles, blur, colors and lighting to create the WOW effect. This is the complete opposite to documentary wedding photography.

Wedding photojournalism (Florida and Miami is covered for free by Haring Photography) branches away from traditional photography and is becoming more and more popular in the wedding industry. It allows the day to pass by as usual while the photographer captures bridal pictures without any involvement in the composition of the photograph. Wedding photojournalism is originally derived from news photography, where the photographer captures an event like a watching bystander. Contact me if you are curious about Florida wedding photojournalism (Miami).

Documentary Photography The photographer attempts to produce objective, truthful, and usually candid photography of a particular subject, most often pictures of people. Documentary wedding photography is opposite to artistic wedding photography and it is correlated with informal wedding photojournalism. It mostly involves taking the pictures in a method to capture the day without any bias or modification. Documentary photographers generally concentrate on capturing the moment as it is. The images reflect the natural undisturbed activities of the day without artificial poses. The photographer documents the day in its natural flow. Emotions are more natural without acting.

So let me get this straight – he envied Avedon & Penn for being bolder, more imaginative photographers than he was, and as a result, he blames them for destroying all of photography, since, by 1972, all the good pictures had been taken.

Next, they ruined dying by doing it before he did.
